Aquarius Season – Jan/Feb 2021

Sun Into Aquarius:

Jan 19th – 12:30 PM (Los Angeles) 3:39 PM (New York) 8:39 PM (London)

Jan 20th – 7:39 AM (Sydney)

The Sun will be in living in Aquarian Kingdom from Jan 19 through Feb 18. Welcome to Aquarius Season 2021: welcome to the future, baby!

  • Jan 28 – Full Moon in Leo

  • Feb 11 – New Moon in Aquarius

  • Feb 1 to 18 – Aquarius Stellium

The 12 signs of the zodiac symbolize the progressive unfoldment of the Soul. Every Soul comes to Planet Earth seeking to embody the highest expression of all twelve archetypes. The human journey is the quest to experience this wholeness.

Aquarius and Pisces are the last two phases of this journey. They have earned a high degree of wisdom and inner freedom after experiencing the first ten signs, and are now concerned with the future welfare of humanity. In these last stages of human evolution, the individual personality is defined enough to allow a merging of consciousness without getting lost in the process. The Soul is now prepared to serve the group and take responsibility as a microcosm of the macrocosm of humanity. The Aquarian phase of anyone's life journey corresponds to the later years in life: when the Sun is in Aquarius, we get a sneak peek of what we are experiencing later in life.

Aquarius demands freedom, liberty, and equality for all. Aquarius is a human rights advocate. The world according to Aquarius is defined by democracy, evidence-based facts, human rights, equal opportunity, and technological advances. Aquarius is impersonal, free-spirited, spontaneous, and concerned with objective truth. Aquarius is future-oriented, altruistic, focuses on the good of the collective, and operates on a universal consciousness level. The Aquarian archetype is rebellious and restless by nature, and radical in his thinking. He enjoys new ideas and adventures, and is continually searching for extraordinary experiences. Aquarius wants you to challenge the status quo, to allow yourself to do the opposite of what is normally expected of you, to cover new territory, to try radical new things, and chase newness rather than routine. Aquarius wants you to expand your horizons, baby: literally.

Aquarians (babes with a Sun, Moon, Ascendant or strong placements in this sign) come into this life to activate revolution, interconnectivity, and enlightenment in humanity: they are the human archetype of the future. Aquarius Season is the time to asses your role in The Collective’s journey. How are you contributing towards humanity’s growth and expansion? What is your mark, what will be your legacy? Are you giving back or are you just taking? How will you be remembered in your community? How would your future-self make a difference now? Join a cause, donate, inform yourself (and others): be an actor of change. This is the time! I believe that souls that incarnate as Aquarians come into this life to finish a previous incarnation’s lifework: they always seem to be involved in some sort of humanitarian cause or social activism. They promote change with their actions, not just their opinions!

In very air-sign fashion, Aquarians are social butterflies with an insatiable hunger for knowledge, exciting experiences, and interesting people. Friendly, polite, and always well-behaved, just like they need to know it all (and they often do!!), they need to be part of all. Aquarius Season is the best time to be sociable, open, and involved: expand your horizons, spread your resume, strengthen your networks! Keep your mind stimulated by making new connections and partnerships, debate new ideas with friends and acquaintances, and get more involved in your community and social groups. Allow yourself to experience what being part of something bigger feels like.

As the ruler of your 11th House – House of ideals, friendships, communities, and networks. Aquarius reminds you to of the importance of the social groups, communities, partnerships, and relationships that you are part of. How will they impact your future? How are you impacting the lives of the other parties involved? What kind of friend are you? What kind of friends do you have? Who inspires you amongst your peers? Who do you inspire? Whose lives have you impacted positively?

Understanding Aquarius:

Co-ruled by Uranus and Saturn: Saturn is the planet of limitation, contraction, orthodoxy and tradition; Uranus is the planet of ultra- progressive thinking, revolution, originality, and invention: their natures are diametrically opposed. Saturn makes Aquarius seem conservative, cold and detached on the outside, but on the inside (influenced by Uranus) Aquarius really is original, open minded, humanitarian, and a rebel. Aquarians are revolutionaries and trendsetters ahead of their time who love to surprise us and give us a glimpse into the future. So unique, so avant-garde, so rare!

Understanding Aquarius requires recognizing the difficulties, and the benefits, involved in integrating both Saturn's and Uranus' very different energies. Each of us approaches this integration differently, depending on the other energies in our soul blueprint (our Birth Chart!):

  • Saturn symbolizes the principle of cosmic order, duty, limitation, Father Time, authority figures, and obedience to the collectives standards. It represents structures, limitations and order. The grounding, reality checking, and delay factor associated with Saturnian energy, sustains Uranus through time so it can manifest its ideas, embody its ideals and take its responsibilities seriously.

  • Uranus embodies electrical impulses that disrupt a bad movie, and change the plot on the spot. Uranus is forever destroying structures that are in decay and in need of replacement. The Uranian mission is to tear down worn out institutions, eliminate archaic belief systems, and oblige us to elevate our consciousness. When the Uranian influence is predominant, our lives are in a constant state of flux.

Those with more planets in Earth signs, especially Capricorn (also known as Saturn Aquarius) are more grounded and practical. Saturn Aquarius is more traditional, conservative in nature, concerned about what authority figures think, and needs a certain amount of security, continuity, and roots. Those with more planets in Water (especially Pisces) and air signs will be less grounded, more utopian, mystical and etheric. Babes with several planets in Aquarius will be very spontaneous, living in the here and now, and uninterested in the past. They will sometimes feel like they are visiting Earth from another planet, or even galaxy. The Uranian Aquarius often expresses disdain for the grubby routines of the workaday world, while the Saturn Aquarius gets busy and gets the job done. Aquarius can balance Uranus and Saturn by building a resilient foundation of diverse, but well chosen, friends and life experiences. The two energies are integrated by feeling, containing and grounding the electrical impulses in the physical body.

The infamous nonconformists of the zodiac, Aquarians take great pride in their personal freedom and eccentricity. They have abundant levels of creative and visionary energy which they often direct towards bettering society. The Water-bearers love innovation, experimentation, and practices that shake up the dominant paradigm. Aquarians are driven by a persistent need to make the world “right” and seek out justice wherever it might be.

Where Does Aquarius Live in You?

Like all the signs, not everyone has planets in Aquarius, but the water-bearer is part of everyone's birth chart. There are three ways to identify where and how Aquarian energy plays out in our lives:

  1. Locating the House(s) that contain Aquarius, or have Aquarius on the cusp, helps us identify the arena in life where we confront our Aquarian issues, and display our Aquarian traits. You can do so on our Natal Chart Generator.

  2. Aquarius is ruled by Uranus and Saturn. However, the sign and house location of our natal Aquarius is the best indicator of how and where we play out our quest for individuation and humanitarian contribution.

  3. The 11th House is the territory ruled by Aquarius, and associated with Uranus. Any planets in our 11th house are conditioned by Uranian and Aquarian energy.

Aquarius Stellium

On February 1st, 2021, Venus will enter Aquarius joining the Sun, Mercury, Jupiter, and Saturn in this sign. Mercury will be retrograde at this time, expanding this Stellium for more than two weeks. The Moon will join them on February 9 before meeting the Sun at 23° Aquarius creating a New Moon on Feb 11. This is all extraordinary! Everyone will be affected by this. It will be profound, but please do not read this as a negative. Energy is neutral until directed!

As a preparation for this Aquarian infusion, we experienced a historic Jupiter x Saturn Grand Conjunction at 0° Aquarius on the day of the Winter Solstice (December 21, 2020). Coming up, the Aquarius New Moon at 23° on February 11 within the six-planet stellium (Sun, Moon, Mercury Rx, Venus, Jupiter, and Saturn, along with asteroid Pallas Athene) mentioned above. Benefic planets Venus and Jupiter will be exactly conjunct in Aquarius on the day of the New Moon, indicating an entry point into a powerful period of social, economic, cultural, and philosophical change. BABE, THE HEAVENS ARE BLESSING US!!!

The six-planet stellium in Aquarius in February 2021 has parallels to a seven-planet stellium in Aquarius experienced in February 1962 that was heralded as the official beginning of the Aquarian Age. We are in the early years of a new decade now, as we were then, that will involve explosive social, cultural, and technological growth, and change. The Aquarius stellium in 1962 included a Total Solar Eclipse (a New Moon amplified) at 15° Aquarius, marking a simultaneous anchoring point and launch point for the major cultural shifts experienced during the 1960s. We can view the New Moon and six-planet stellium in Aquarius this February as a similar anchoring and launching point for major cultural and societal changes in the 2020s.

Crystal for Aquarius Season: Amethyst

Known as Aquarius’ birthstone, Amethyst enhances our communicative nature, promoting our ability to work effectively with others – both personally and professionally. This is a great crystal for everything networking, united efforts, friendship, and communication. Amethyst helps us handle tough situations in a more thought through manner. It calms the mind, dissolves negative thoughts, enhances our intuition, and gives its wearer a clearer vision of the obstacles and path ahead. I use it when creating/visualizing my future to dissolve any doubts, limiting-belief or resistance by holding it close to my heart chakra and repeating positive affirmations.

Apothecary for Aquarius Season: Lavender

Lavender brings peace and compassion to us, which is what we are striving for during Aquarius Season in our vision for bettering the world. For creative work, Lavender helps soften the jolts of energy that run high during creative outpours while enhancing our energetic output, clearing out lethargy and laziness. It is one of my favorite herbs to add to baths, Lavender help us decompress and relax, as the overflow of ideas during Aquarius Season can be overwhelming. Use it in chest rubs for seasonal colds and coughs, as well as in mouthwash for mouth ulcers and inflamed gums.
